Greetings bumblebees!
I pray you all keep making a buzz in the direction of your dreams.
I just finished watching the documentary that sure created a buzz in the food Industry called, What The Health. It was released March 7, 2017, and directed by Kip Anderson. The hour and thirty-seven long movie explored the corruption and deceit within the various food industries and the organizations that supposed to be striving for a greater good, but ends up on the lobbying circuit as well. Furthermore, the filmmaker believes, after finding out the facts behind the veil that the best way to go is Vegan in order to lead a long, prosporous life whereas consuming processed meat leads to more health problems down the line.
I really enjoyed viewing this film. I love watching docs in general, so I was excited to see another’s perspective. If I am able to know more, then it makes me a better person.
A topic that was widely discussed throughout the movie was Carcinogens.
Unfortunately, we are surrounded by carcinogens in our daily life. From the food we choose to eat to our environment.
Every choice we make affects us in one way or another. Every choice has a good or bad consequence, as we are faced with dozens of choices when we wake up.
What choice will you make today?
Kip researched deeply about various organizations like the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Assocation etc, and He was flabbergasted to uncover that some of their recipes contained processed meats and carcinogens contrary to the very cause they are supposed to be fighting.
Does Everyone Have A Price?
My mom died of Breast Cancer, so when I see the Susan G. Komen Foundation supporting Yoplait, a dairy, that doesn’t aid in preventing cancer at all, and worst of all, KFC, a fast food establishment???
It doesn’t make sense, but like they say, if you want to know the truth, just follow the money.
My mother Never supported these organizations. She would always tell me, they have been trying to find the cure for decades. Why haven’t they found it yet, and what’s walking going to do? My mom sure spoke her truth, and I knew she was right. Dr. Sebi didn’t deserve to die, but that’s another post.
This was an eye opening watch for me. It was information I kinda already knew, but it was a needed refresher. My mom and I was pesca Vegetarian, and then we just started consuming meat again. At that time, we felt like we were missing out, but missing out on what? Dying sooner?
This film gave me the needed reflection I needed, and definitely some pointers to think about.
Building A Foundation
I figured one cannot just dive right in. I learned that when I done 60 squats last weekend without exercising wanting to push myself, now I have Doms. That sucks, but I figured let me start with “Clean Eating.”
I love eating various fruit and vegetables like Kale and lemons, so adding that to my grocery checklist is no problem.
I assume in Cowspiracy, they discussed the dangers of Cow Milk. What The Health briefly discussed this topic as well. I have always known Cow Milk was bad. That’s why I opted for Almond Milk, which is delicious, but so expensive, and the manufacturers of regular milk know this. They want us to stay obese, so they can make more money.
I’m transparent, there are days where I have cereal, and drink whatever is in my fridge. I want to do better because I want to be here for my future children and grandchildren. It’s takes 30 days to break a habit, and start a new one. I was Vegetarian for 10 years. I need to make a lifestyle change.
I wanted to Research For Myself
So…
I decided to check out some of the organizations in the movie Kip documented, and this is what I found.
Pork Tenderloin for Diabetes topped with tall fruits??
“Perfect counterpoint to the Pork”
How about no pork at all??
According to the American Cancer Society, on the website, it states:
“Red Meat ( Consumption of)”
Group 2A Carcinogens
They in fact did state that consumption of Red Meat is classified as a Group 2A Carcinogen.
When we go to our local grocery store, and see that aisle full of processsed meat, are we going to think maybe another day or are you going to make a change today?
It’s not easy, I know it’s not easy, but we can change, if we really want to.
Did you watch What The Health?
What are your thoughts?
Are you Vegan or Vegetarian?
I would love to hear your thoughts!
